When I first set eyes on the beautiful building of la vie, it was love at first sight. Which comes as no surprise, since our restaurant is set in an old mansion from the early 19th century, directly opposite Osnabrück Town Hall in the very heart of the city.
Together with my colleagues, I have been welcoming guests here from all over the world since 2006. Our valet is usually the first person visitors encounter, and many are surprised to come across the amiable man outside the door. But to us, he is simply part of the experience. After arriving, guests are shown through to the lounge, where they can sit back and enjoy an aperitif. Dining takes place in the restaurant, where warm wood tones create an unobtrusive, stylistically sophisticated elegance.
Groups wishing to dine with us are given a warm welcome in the bel étage. And the upper storey, containing historic masonry, houses our wine ‘cellar’ with a vast array of rarities and specialties from across the globe. I believe there can be no better ambience for a restaurant. Which is exactly why I feel so at home here, and also proud and happy, with la vie, to be an integral part of Osnabrück society.
